Can I handwash my Cotton/Silk scarf?: Yes! While the tag says “dry clean only,” you can handwash it in cool water with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent. To protect the delicate fibers and fringe, never wring the fabric — instead, gently roll it in a towel to absorb excess moisture and lay flat to dry.
What does “cut from a placement print” mean?: Each mini square is hand-cut from a different section of a large printed fabric — the same cloth, the same pattern, but a unique section every time. The photos are one representative cut. Your piece will share the same design and colorway, but the exact placement of the print pattern will be entirely your own.
What are “small artifacts”?: Hand silk-screening is a human process — ink is pushed through a screen by hand, one pull at a time. Small artifacts are the tiny imperfections that result: a faint ink “blip” at the edge of a print pattern, a slightly uneven color pull, or a small “blop” where the screen lifted. No two pieces are identical. These are not defects — they are the fingerprints of the making process, and what distinguishes a handmade textile from a machine-printed one.
